Advaita for the 21st Century

Welcome to Advaita Vision. This is the new name and a new look for the site I started in 2003. As experience and understanding have evolved so too have the types of articles and opinions. A 10-point statement of what we stand for begins as follows:
This site provides a platform for all who are attracted to the vision of non-duality and like to share their views and their approaches. Here’s why Advaita Vision will be an open platform for all committed to self-enquiry:
1. People are at different points on their spiritual journeys.
Therefore different expressions of the fundamental principle of advaita are needed to meet their specific different needs. (Read More)
Those familiar with the original site (www.advaita.org.uk) will attest to the value of the links to other sites that may be of interest to the seeker, the who’s-who and lineage charts of teachers, and the guide to stimulating reading materials. The library section is a new addition, providing details of a vast number of advaita-related books.
The sections that will continue to grow faster as new materials get added are:
• Articles: essays by various writers and teachers, across the spectrum of advaita thought (some interviews also);
• Blog-site: in which a regular group of writers share their insights and understandings;
• Q&As: any seeker can submit questions and I (and the bloggers) will offer a response;
• Book-extracts: please submit anything that has inspired you from a book you’ve read;
Note:
• The Advaita Forum was implemented but has now been terminated. This is as a result of lack of interest other than by spammers. Other options for interaction are being investigated.
This site is a labor of love that’s kept up to date by a few volunteers. Any support by way of contacts and information and useful materials will be much welcome. NEWS/ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Advaita Library has been completely updated, with the number of separate categories (one page per category) now expanded to 35. There are nearly 1400 books, DVDs and audio tapes catalogued, including Amazon synopses where available, links to purchase from Amazon and elsewhere and links to reviews and extracts on the site, if we have them. If you want any advaita-related book, this is the place to look. (And if you link through to buy from Amazon, the site gains a small royalty towards future purchases.)
The following series are ongoing:
1. The Dream Problem by Dr. R.V. Khedkar, edited by Ram Narayan. This is in the form of a story in the style of Yoga Vasishtha.
2. A presentation of upadesha sAhasrI, by Shankara, compiled by R. B. Athreya from the lectures given by Swami Paramarthananda in Chennai. This is courtesy of Tattvaloka journal of Sringeri.
