There are many sites acknowledging the wisdom of this sage. There are also a number of satsang teachers claiming association or discipleship. It is understood, however, that he did not formally designate a successor in his lineage (the Navnath saMpradAya) and some of the more recent teaching often more nearly resemble neo-advaita than traditional. Accordingly, his successors are listed in the 'Western satsang' section.

Advaita
Fellowship -
The Advaita Fellowship of Redondo beach, California
is concerned with the teaching stemming from Sri Nisargadatta
Maharaj to Ramesh Balsekar
and Wayne Liquorman.
"Even for a moment do not
think that you are the body. Give yourself no name,
no shape. In the darkness and the silence reality
is found."
Timothy
Conway has a page containing masses of biographical
and other information as well as photos and an extensive
list of resources. |
|
Nisargadatta's most famous dialogues
are contained in 'I
am That', an essential Advaita manual, listed in
the Recommended Reading section.

Here is another site specifically devoted
to Nisargadatta
Maharaj and another containing links
to still more sites. |

There are four 2 1/2 hour DVDs narrated by Dr.Stephen
Wolinsky (a disciple), which may
be purchased from Neti
Neti Films. These include actual footage of Nisargadatta Maharaj. The teaching certainly relates
to Nisargadatta, although there is also much material
that does not. Talks address Buddhist and tantric
teachings as well as more modern, Western philosophies
such as that of Korzybski, Derrida, Post-Deconstructionism
and even quantum mechanics. |

Maharaj by Dr. Lakshyan Schanzer, complete with photos,

Maharaj
Nisargadatta is primarily set up to provide details
of this teacher and contains a huge collection of
quotations, together with biography, lineage and photos
and the complete text of 'I am That'. However, there
are also many more essays and books on Advaita in
general, including many of the books by Ramana Maharshi,
Upanishads, Gita and Brahmasutras, works by Sivananda
and Krishnananda, Ramakrishna and Vivekananda, and
a number from the Bhaktivedanta Trust. |

Nisargadatta.org is a very stylish and comprehensive site devoted to providing an introduction to the teachings of Nisargadatta Maharaj, particularly for newcomers to spirituality, and especially advaita Vedanta. Highly recommended. |

Sri
Ranjit Maharaj (died Nov. 2000) - disciple of
Shri Siddharameshwar Maharaj, along with the better
known Nisargadatta Maharaj. Enlightened at a very
early age, he lived very simply in Bombay after
Siddharameshwar Maharaj died, never married, had
a simple job, and, for most of his life, very few
disciples. There are excerpts from talks, including
two in MP3 format and a program of events.
"As long as there is a
body, there is fear. If you want to be fearless,
be what is fearless, because that which IS has no
end. The final reality has no end and no beginning;
it is limitless."
A description of a meeting with Ranjit
Maharaj also describes aspects of his teaching,
covering reality, knowledge and ignorance, master
and death.
Timothy Conway is looking for help on
one of the chapters of his new book from anyone who
personally knew Ranjit Maharaj, to share impressions
or teachings. Please contact
him directly.
Sadguru Publishing is the official book site of Sadguru.us, offering books on the Advaita Vedanta teachings of Shri Siddharameshwar Maharaj, Shri Ranjit Maharaj, Shri Nisargadatta Maharaj, and Saint Shri Samartha Ramdas. Highly recommended
